Why I Made a Pigeon T-Shirt for Pigeon People

I am crazy about pigeons. And I am crazy about people who love pigeons.

My social media feeds are full of pigeon love - photos, videos, little moments of people just completely besotted with this bird. So much love. It's a lovely way to be, honestly. The pigeon gets a bad press, and the pigeon people know it, and they don't care one bit. In fact, I think us pigeon people love the pigeon EVEN MORE because of it. 

So I made something for them.

The Geometric Pigeon T-Shirt is one of my designs here at Infinitees - a bold, graphic take on a bird I find genuinely fascinating. The geometry strips it back to its essence: the shape, the form, the quiet dignity of a creature that's been alongside humans for thousands of years, has served us humans as our pre-tech comms system, including during war, and somehow still gets called a nuisance.

Awe & Wonder as Design Principles

What underpins every design I make is awe and wonder. That's not a marketing line - it's the actual starting point.

There is all sorts of craziness going on in this world right now. But we are absolutely surrounded by beauty in the natural world. It's a bounty. A load of gifts handed to us daily - including from the bird kingdom - feathers, flight, colour, form, behaviour that stops you in your tracks if you're paying attention.

And that's the thing. Until fairly recently, I'd walked past most of it without registering it at all. The pigeon on the wall. The raven overhead. The deer at the edge of the field. All of it just... background noise. 

Now I'm paying attention. And once you start, you can't stop.

Wearing What You Love

That's what these designs are about - a way of marking out, in your own quiet way, the things that move you. You don't have to explain it. You just wear it. You live it.
